Reverse distribution system as an alternative for sustainable solid waste

Abstract

Research around the solid waste problem worldwide, agree disproportionate and uncontrolled accumulation in landfills, this situation stems from the lack in implementation of strategies for recovery, reuse and recycling. However, technological advances and economic and social development have allowed the generation of proposals in this regard, within the considered experiences gained by various countries who have joined within the rehabilitation processes of waste in the production process by continuous recovery of its goods or containers to prevent its accumulation in landfills and / or energy consumption incineration product, its implementation is one approach reverse distribution system, which includes a process that begins with the collection and storage of recyclable material and culminates in the company recuperating the material. The importance in considering this type of system is an alternative to reach sustainable waste management and waste, this associated not only with the minimization of environmental liabilities, but their economic and social benefits.
